Top Ten Weirdest Gadgets of 2010

A New Zealand inventor has created a electric bicycle that will hit the markets in 2010. This 21 pound bike easily folds into a convenient carrying size and travels at a dizzying 12 miles an hour. The large front wheel, tiny back wheel, and handle bars that wrap around your rear easily qualify this bike for the weird gadget list. If your rear happens to be larger than the seemingly microscopic three inch seat, your hands will effectively wrap under your back end to steer this bike through traffic. One can only imagine the stares from pedestrians (and police officers) this bike will elicit.
Next is the painful looking dragon controller. Realistically shaped like a dragon, the spiky wings will cut into your palms and a plastic flame will jab where your fingers should be.
Someone has created a hay-fever hat and eyedropper eyeglasses. The hat is basically a toilet paper dispenser. You place the hat on your head and you instantly have tissue available for the next allergy attack. Each lens of the eyeglasses contains a plastic funnel that opens directly over your eyeball. You simply pour your desired medicine in! If you’re anything like me, you’ll see it coming and blink. Even with the eyeglasses, the medicine will never reach my eye!
Soon to be released are anti-smell socks. These socks are guaranteed not to smell even after six months at the bottom of your gym locker. Smells fishy to me!
Three new alarm clocks will soon be available. One is an anti-bang alarm clock, complete with a set of spikes on top to wake you up the moment you hit the snooze button. Next is the digital bomb clock that makes realistic bomb sounds to wake you up each morning. (I wouldn’t recommend it to veterans.) Lastly, the gong alarm clock features a shirtless man smacking a mini-gong to wake you up. All three beg the question, “Why?”
The newest gadget in the cell phone world is a single button watch that connects to your Blackberry. No more wrestling your phone out of your pocket to check caller ID.
Finally, you can soon purchase a solar powered cooler. It contains a small solar panel to charge your MP3 player for about thirty seconds of playback time. Just plug into the cooler’s speakers and enjoy three words from your favorite song!

LG is into WM 6.5

Microsoft seems be doing them all at once. Along with the imminent release of Windows 7, that is certain to get into a lot of new notebooks and PCs, they also want a share of the smartphone market. Especially since Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android are giving the headaches when it comes to mobile device users.
So it makes sense for the Redmond software giant to try and push the newest version of Windows Mobile on as many devices as they can. And manufacturers couldn’t be happier – LG is the last one to join the club. Their new model, called GM750 is the first out of a range of 13 Windows Mobile 6.5 devices that LG Plans to release by the end of 2010.
The phone does look very good, with a 3 inch touchscreen, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS navigation and a 5 megapixel camera. It has a 200 MB memory, expandable via microSD slot and it’s already on the market.

The new iMacs are here

Even if they can get much more expensive than PC products sporting almost the same features, Macs seem to fascinate a lot of users. That’s why, whenever new Macs are on the market, everybody wants to check them out. Even if I think the thing Apple deserves the biggest praise is their marketing…
But let’s get back to the new things that Apple has decided to put into their computers. Mice and keyboards are now wireless, and CPUs are faster – 3.33Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2.66Ghz Core i5 (quad) or 2.8Ghz Core i7 (quad), while video is handled by an ATI solution, which is quite interesting, considering the fact that Apple preferred Nvidia chips in the past few years.
The HD craze got to Apple – the new 21.5” and 27” displays are capable of resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 and 2560 x 1440, so you won’t have any problems watching “Public Enemies” as if you were there, right between the gunshots. We see an increase in terms of RAM, too – 4 GB is the now the smallest available.

3D Windows 7 laptop

Quite a few Windows 7 devices are making their way onto the market at the moment, as the release date of the new Microsoft operating system is getting closer. These products are all basically just notebooks, as not a lot of them bring any innovative features. Acer tries to do stand out from the crowd with their new Aspire 5738DG.
Besides from being a very strong desktop replacement, the new Acer offering provides 3D entertainment. Of course, it can also display regular 2D applications, but it comes with a 15.6 inch 3D screen and glasses, for a fully tridimensional experience. Acer says that their laptop will make things look like they’re literally popping out of the screen, just like it happens in a 3D cinema. I’m sure it will increase employee productivity…
To make things even better, the notebook also includes Dolby Surround sound.
On the more common side, the specs look very good, too, including a 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 4GB RAM memory, as well as a dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 graphics chipset.
