Go HD with the Flip Ultra HD

Pure Digital has come out with an update to its larger Flip Ultra models, the Flip Ultra HD.  It features a new video compression engine, 720p HD video recording, an HDMI output and 8GB of internal flash memory.  It still has the same easy-to-use software that made the Flip the favorite camcorder of video bloggers in uploading video to YouTube and social networking sites.  The HD capability is just timely for YouTube is now supporting HD and all new flat panel displays are now HDTV.

The Flip Ultra HD’s body is not as sleek as the Flip Mino but the trade off is worth it.  This extra size is for the HDMI socket, so you can connect it directlty to an HDTV set to immediately watch your HD recording.  The 8GB internal flash memory provides 2 hours of recording and the removable rechargeable battery provides an option to use standard AA cells.  The current market price for the unit is $199 but watch out for good deals this coming holiday season.
