Older 360 titles get no Natal

If you’ve been excited about Natal, the new full body motion-control system for the Xbox 360, there’s still reason to be excited. Recent reports from the Tokyo Game Show had journalists and show goers pretty excited by the new system. Unfortunately, there’s now a reason to be a bit disappointed. Natal evangelist Kudo Tsunoda of Microsoft Games, told Destructoid that with a few limited exceptions such as the Beautiful Katamari and Space Invaders Extreme games, most of the older 360 won’t be able to be retro-fitted with Natal compatibility via a patch. For whatever reason, the system is apparently to complicated to be slapped and needs to be built into a game from the ground up. Unfortunate indeed, as one of the first demonstration games for the new system was a re-tooled Burnout Paradise, leading to all sorts of fevered speculation on how other games might incorporate the system.
