Sales are up, but Nintendo claims that it’s ready for the Holiday Rush

in an interview with CNBC, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimes revealed a couple of interestting thing. First, Nintendo’s new DSi unit has apparently moved 2.2 million units since it’s launch back in April. Despite this impressive figure and the $50 price drop that’s already boosting sales of the Wii, Fils-Aimes believe that the company has learned it’s lesson after the past three years of holiday shortages and expects to have plenty of hardware available for shoppers this holiday season. Fils-Aimes was quoted in the article as saying “”From our standpoint we’re prepared. We have a tremendous amount of product in inventory. We’ve been flowing product into retail. We do not expect to have shortages on our products.”

We’ll believe that when we see it… in a Best Buy on December 15th.
