The Sanyo Xacti VPC-CS1 – the World’s Slimmest Full HD Camera

Sanyo is a pioneer when it comes to portable camcorders that are capable of recording at Full HD 1080p.  The company once again lived up to its reputation by launching at CES the VPC-CS1 pocketable camcorder.  They claim it is the world’s thinnest and lightest Full HD video camera.  It’s just over an inch at its thickest (where the sensor and lenses are located) and records H.264 video at 1080p  and captures 8 megapixels still images. The VPC-CS1 stores video to SDXC memory cards and has a built-in mini-HDMI port for directly displaying video and images on HDTVs.  It also has three microphones that features a “sound zoom” capability that allows better audio capture from your target subjects.  The Xacti VPC-CS1 is expected to be available in the market in February 2010 and the suggested retail price is a little below $300.
