1. Xbox Project Natal – This is hands down the best of the new gadgets coming out. Interactive game play without controllers. There is a motion sensor camera built in that reads body positioning, body type and can assign gender to your avatar. The camera can detect even subtle movements replicating the movement on screen.

2. Ford’s MyKey – This is the bane of all teenagers! A parental safety control allows parents to set speed limits, audio limits, and sound an alert if the seatbelt is not engaged. Cool idea, glad my dad didn’t have one.

3. 4G phones – These have data transfer speeds of 100 Mbps with 1G when static. Sprint, Comcast, Verizon, Clearwire, and Time Warner Cable are all releasing 4G phones, so the prices are going to be competitive. Good news for the consumer.

I realize that this isn’t really a tekkie devise, but it IS cool so I included it.
Toyota Prius – Toyota is introducing a solar panel on their Prius hybrid car. The solar panel is to power the air conditioning and should improve overall functioning of the car.

LG is into WM 6.5

Microsoft seems be doing them all at once. Along with the imminent release of Windows 7, that is certain to get into a lot of new notebooks and PCs, they also want a share of the smartphone market. Especially since Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android are giving the headaches when it comes to mobile device users.
So it makes sense for the Redmond software giant to try and push the newest version of Windows Mobile on as many devices as they can. And manufacturers couldn’t be happier – LG is the last one to join the club. Their new model, called GM750 is the first out of a range of 13 Windows Mobile 6.5 devices that LG Plans to release by the end of 2010.
The phone does look very good, with a 3 inch touchscreen, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS navigation and a 5 megapixel camera. It has a 200 MB memory, expandable via microSD slot and it’s already on the market.

iPhone Car Starting App

The iPhone tends to replace more and more objects that you had to carry around with you on a daily bTasis, including a GPS navigation system or an iPod. Still, this is one of the most innovative apps we’ve seen in a while. It allows the iPhone to replace your car remote control altogether.
The Viper Smart Start app offers you exactly the same features a regular car remote control would give you, but it does cost a bit. The in-car module alone costs 300$, and you can’t use the app without. But it’s way cooler than a regular car remote, and that’s because you don’t have to be close to the care to use it. You can lock and unlock the doors, open the trunk, start the car and turn on the heat in the car remotely from virtually anywhere, because the app uses the cellular network to work.

iPhone OS Firmware update 3.1.2 released

OK, we all got used to getting tons of new features on our iPhones everytime Steve Jobs decides to grace us with a new firmware update. Well, we’re sorry to tell that it’s not the case this time. Still, the new update does bring some important stuff, so maybe you shouldn’t avoid installing it. Unless you have a jailbroken iPhone (seriously, don’t!), in which case you should wait for the jailbroken version.
But let’s see what the new update brings, shall we? As we said, it doesn’t come with any new features, but it does fix a few glitches. The first is the bug that caused the device not to wake up from sleep at times. Then, it repairs the issue that caused the iPhone to need a restart in order to regain access to network services. Last but not least, the iPhone won’t crash occasionally during video streaming. All of these were intermittent issues, but it’s good to see them fixed, as they could get quite annoying.

There used to be a great divide between a smart phone and a cell phone. Now, with the continuing improvement of cell phones, there is a thin difference between them. Usually a smartphone is a gadget that is handled from a centralized service such as a blackberry.

Gadgets: Good earphones, good price

Just like somebody else, I plugged them into my iPod and hit play before I knew any specifics on them. From then on, I didn’t need to take them off.

Ultrasone announced a new set of headphones called the Zino.

The headphones’ design is simple and useful for portability. When not in use, they easily fold up for storage in the included hard carrying case.

Not only was the sound clear and natural, they also are the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever tried on.

What delivers the sound are two powerful 40mm gold-plated drivers. The technique uses S-Logic technology, which delivers the sound in a way that’s directed to the user’s outer ear. Ultrasone claims this help reduce sound pressure on the eardrums by about 40 percent.

The adjustable headband is made with a gunmetal black brushed finish and the ear cups have an aluminum finish.

If that doesn’t confuse you, then knowing the company also says the Zino features MU-Metal shielding (ULE technology), which reduces the amount of radiation directed to the listener by up to 98 percent compared to conventional headphones, should.

“Music lovers, concerned about the effects that ear buds have on their hearing, will be glad to know (with the Zino) they have a safer and better sounding headphone,” said Paul Taylor, President of Ultrasone Inc. in a recent press release.

Somehow, no matter what I do, the clutter always comes back but Dexim’s MacHub Dock Station can solve part of the problem.

If your table is anything like mine, you’d do most anything to tidy up the cables and clutter.

A portable speaker from cy-fi allows hands-free iPod/iPhone use through a wireless speaker.

The speaker broadcasts sound in CD-quality by Kleer technology. It was created for bikers and reduces the danger of biking while wearing headphones.

Two mounting brackets are included with the speaker kit, one small and one for larger mounting devices. determine the diameter of where you’ll mount the speaker, choose which bracket will fit best and connect it in seconds.
