TikiNote – a Free Easy Typing App for the iPhone

One-handed touchscreen typing is not a new thing but one development worth checking out is the introduction of Tiki’Labs’ free TikiNotes app for the iPhone.  Other typing applications have been in use for some time with the same objective of making typing fast and easy.  Even the iPhone itself has its built-in typing utility and we know at least one other solution that worked with the iPhone called ShapeWriter.  With this application, you just run your finger on the letters of a word on a QWERTY keyboard, and the program will come out with the word you are typing.  An application similar to this is Swype, but this is not yet available for the iPhone.  TikiNotes has a different technique and simplifies the typing experience to only six keys.  This application lets users look in one of six alphabet sectors, pick a letter from there, and repeat the step until the word that you intend to type comes out.  It also features a predictive input algorithm that guesses the word you’re typing.  The beauty of this app is it is now available in the AppStore for free.
