The G-Shot HD520 Could Be Your Best Shot

The G-Shot HD520 is Genius’ contender in the arena of new pocket camcorders.  It is a low-cost compact camcorder, which can capture HD video and still photos. The recorded video image is in H.264 format at 720p HD resolution.  Captured photos can be at 5MP or even at 11MP by interpolation.  It has a SD card slot that can support SD cards with up to 8GB of memory.  A 2.5” LTPS colored viewfinder is built in, which can be rotated up to 270 degrees to find the best viewing position.

The HD520 comes with an HDMI port and cable that allows direct viewing of captured videos and stills in any HDTV flat panel display.  It is equipped with EIS (electronic image stabilizer) to minimize the effects of handshaking when taking videos.  The camcorder employs Arcsoft’s Media Impression for easy menu navigation and file management. Other features include a 5x digital zoom, face detection and Z-Lighting technology that enhances the brightness of captured images under low light.  Priced at $149, the HD520 is almost the perfect pocket camcorder if not for the lack of a flip-out USB jack that is a standard feature in competing models.
