Who’s ready for some Human Tetris?
This is one of those products that will either be insanely wonderful or disappear without a trace down the same memory hole as — well, all the other weird gadget-based games we’ve forgotten. A company called Softkinetic is unveiling a game called “Silhouette.” It’s the PC-based equivalent of the “Human Tetris” Japanese games show clips that were all the rage on YouTube a while back. The game utilizes Nvidia’s “3D Vision” technology with a gaming interface to put players in a setting where they’ll see a wall trundling at them in true 3D. the wall will have a human-shaped cutout in it and the player will have to twist their bodies into a variety of shapes to get through the hole. Given teh average shape of most gamers, this may be a tall order, but it’s easy to see a marketing hook where Softkinetic positions Silhouette as the next iteration of Wii fit for PC gamers.
